Brennero base tunnel – “Isarco river underpass” lot.

The lot includes the construction of civil works for the two main bores for a total of approximately 4.3 km and the two link tunnels that connect to the historic line, for a total of 2.3 km.
Work is technically highly complex: the main bore and link tunnels pass under, with a minimum clearance, the Isarco river, the A22 highway, state road SS12 and the historic Verona-Brennero railway line.
A series of preliminary surface work must be completed before beginning tunnel construction work, including the movement of state road SS12, the construction of two bridges on the Isarco river and Rio Bianco and the construction of a loading/unloading area on highway A22 to transport and supply construction material.
Construction includes the permanent deviation of the historic Verona-Brennero railway line for a segment approximately 1 km long.
